Work's been fun! I got my schedule figured out so now I don't have to work when I have classes. thank goodness. But now tbh, I don't have many hours at all. ^^;; It'll pick up on Black Friday/Christmas. :S

IDK, school's been haaaaaard. However, I still got a bit more time to. Not suck. Trying to save myself before it's too late, ya'know?

Hey everyone! Ir's been a long time! I've had SO much going on!

I already mentioned that I got a job! I'm a front-end clerk/cashier at Toys-R-Us now. I'll also be trained for R-Zone (electronics) soon. Tomorrow will be my 2nd day on the job. :)

September 12th was my birthday! I even missed that LMFAO. Well I turned 22. I didn't do much :D

What else...well as you can imagine, the benefit of work is money. Which means I can finally get more outfits. Honestly, I've been so busy. I haven't been checking Ricoche much (sorry to everyone in the Health forums - I'll be back but I'm thinking of enlisting help as well).

I'm still into the fashion, hardcore. ^o^b Just had life pop up so hopefully I'll be updating at least once a week again. :)

New Bag! & Good News

Here's a new bag I got. Its actually concert merchandise! Its unbelievably sturdy and I've wanted both a big shiny silver and gold bag! Now just gotta find a gold one, LOL.

My friend also brought me October's JELLY. I am up to date with Autumn trends which makes me so happy! Can't wait to shop again.

Otherwise, I have three bits of good news!

1) I'm employed!
I got a job a Toys-R-Us! My first day will be tomorrow and I'm so excited. I'll be a cashier but I love kids and toys, so I feel like I can really enjoy and do my job efficiently.

2) I'm going to see Arashi!
My favorite boy band, Arashi! I won tickets to their concert, so should all go well in terms of savings, I'll be in Japan Jan. 13th-18th to see my babies. :D

3) I joined the gym!
Finally restarted my Las Vegas Athletic Club membership so I can get down to 49kg! I'm so ready to get healthy and be able to say I love my body. LOL

A nice week and good always comes in threes. Let's just hope this streak continues. I start school August 30th as well - I'm kinda excited, kinda scared hehe.

So in a recent entry, I mentioned that I need to buy a nice clay mask or facial peel. So I did! I really like this mask too!

It's a fairly thick product, and really does have a strong cucumber scent! I apply it to my entire face, ultimately avoiding my eye area.

My Own Nails

I love this color! >.<

I did my first set of nails last night! I used KISS Active Oval Full Cover Nails, China Glaze Polish in Ruby Pumps, ibd 5-Second Brush-On Glue, and Jordana Nail Strengthener/Top Coat.

Technically total work time was divided between last night and this afternoon. I had to clean up the nail polish & two of my nails got messed up. So I had to file the smooth & re-polish them. I haven't had long nails since my Prom/Graduation in...2006. LOL, so needless to say, I'm getting re-used to doing things in them. Typing is awkward.

It's very simple (even though this polish is SO sparkly, so it does attract attention) but eventually I want to use the stones I got & mix color. Do a more elaborate set! I'm job-hunting though, so solid but striking nails work for now.

KISS nails are the best. I bought a cheaper set to test my usage/decoing skills and they kinda sucked. These went on so smoothly and just feel comfortable! I'm glad I bought them the day after.

I've been job hunting since 2008. At that time, I barely got any response. Recently I've actually been called to interviews, which is fantastic. However, its the same thing -
"We'll call you at the end of the week if we're interested."
And then, nothing. D: I heard that in both interviews I went to this week. Which I guess means I'll hear something tomorrow or Saturday. It's just so annoying when you really wanna work~

I actually read about Eyeko before, because they have this fantastic looking eyeliner felt-tip. However, Lu's post made me look up a bit more. Apparently, they have this JAR of tinted glowing moisturizer. I want it so bad! I wouldn't need to re-buy moisturizer for a year! Also, it gives a bit of a bronzing glow and I need that so bad!

Shahana posts about getting new shoes~ I'm currently in a battle to find the right shoes myself - but for quite the polar opposite reason. Everywhere I look, my size is sold out! I'm a size 6 in womens (yes, tiny, I know!) and a lot of the styles I like just don't come that small. I guess the only thing I can be proud of is in Japan, I can find shoes. Well, sorta - a lot of times their smallest size is a 23.5? Well I'm a 22! Geez.

Remember the whole BACKS/Newsie style I've been constantly alluding too - both GILFY and BACKS actually have been introducing this sort of sleek, monotone style for Fall. This is a fantastically simple but chic coordinate with that in mind!

Notice the tight silhouette the clothing gives her - everything's fitted. Then her accessories are unique and whatnot, especially the large ring she's wearing.

If anything, outfits like this are gonna make me start loosing weight yesterday! Speaking of which, I am WAY overdue for a Health post here! Hey hey! A few things are being revamped here at the blog, so if anything's missing, don't be alarmed~ :3

Bath Additives!

Skin Care Moisture Bath Powder

Last year when me & my friend went to Japan, I believe she grabbed this in a Super Hotel. I remember reading a post by シオンさん (this post) about bath additives, and that's pretty much what this is. It says it's supposed to make you sweat and give you soft, beautiful skin. WELL.

That's how the water looked after adding the powder. I take hot baths, hot showers, etc. I don't feel clean if it's not hot, so I was worried that might affect it. Also, I take baths like I did in Japan; I shower first and then soak in the bath. It's more of a relaxation experience then.

It does actually make you feel a different kind of hot. I've never been the type to sweat, but I did feel like I was close to perspiring.

As for skin softness, I don't feel especially softer skin.

There was no strong/unpleasant smell and it dissolved quite well. No tub staining or anything either! So there aren't a lot of minuses here.

This packet was specifically from a hotel, so there's no brand name attached. However, if you're interested like me in more of these, you can buy a packet of the brand mentioned in the above blog!

Gachapin & Bob~ ^o^

Today's more of a daily life update! I went to what seemed to be the final staff meeting for the local anime convention I work for, AnimeVegas. This year, me & the bestie are ConOps! The "jack of all trades" position, so to speak. Looking forward to it!

Honestly, I feel awkward when I mention I work at an anime con because people auto-think, "OMG SO YOU LIEK ANIME?!" and...yeah. Some series, but I'm not heavily into it in the slightest. Which, in my opinion, is a huge reason why I can do my job easily. I'm not distracted by the events going on. XD;;

School starts August 30th and I'll be taking three courses - Journalism 100, Astronomy, and Math. Basic math D: I suuuuck at it, haha.

Still looking for a job, natch. Hoping to find one soon.

Err, otherwise, I have other posts that I want to get up here soon. Hopefully I'll have the drive to do so.

Coordinating is HARD!

One thing I wish was prevalent was good critique when it was asked for. Today I had a nice experience, where I was told a clean opinion in regards to my previous coordinate. No sugar coating. It's really not that great and not that Gal. Which is fine! I needed to hear that, because now I'll find some other way to wear those pieces.

You don't have to take critique as an insult, unless it truly is overboard. It can be an aide, it ca be helpful. None of us were born perfect in any way shape or form and we certainly weren't born perfect at style.

I also realized that I don't push myself enough. I get scared and take shortcuts, play it safe.

Then, I need to loose weight. LMFAO

I know I have it in me, I've just never had the gift of coordinating. I mean, when I dress up, I don't look...messy. However, it's just not the aesthetic I was TRYING to aim for. I can look at clothes on OTHERS and tell what looks good but when it comes to MYSELF - frankly I have a REALLY hard time dressing myself! I know I'm new at it though & I'm not claiming to be Gal yet, so it's not a huge deal. XD
Part of me thinks I need to hyper-go for it. When I try and take casual stabs at it, doesn't work. I'm not trying to just keep it casual to make it easy - I want to have ELABORATE outfits one day! However, I felt like maybe I should start simple? I dunno!

I also think that I need to think back to when I was first starting make-up. SAME thing happened! Just like in my last Ricoche blog post, I had to get out of my comfort zone and go for it. Yeah false lashes are still a bit tough, yeah I'm still trying to figure out make-up AND hair. I also get envious of girls who seem new but are already amazing at it. I've been into Gal as a style interest for a while and I'm still stumbling over my own feet. I think that I took too many pauses and don't take any chances though.

I realized that my old personal style and my new Gal aims kind of clash in my head when I go shopping. Both my shopping hauls have things that could work well in Gal and things that can't really. So I think I need to gather what can and wear that, instead of trying to blend it all. At least until I'm better at coordinating the style.

I also realized that this style is as easy or hard as you make it. Which is why I do like looking at sites like GrailNet & GalStar - they have basics but they are inevitably Gal. I think I might have to build up looks, using those places as guides and then add personal flair. I have personal likes, but my personal style isn't a STYLE. It's more like...things I like. LOL! Video games/nerdy stuff for instance. I feel like it could work, but over time when I'm more accustomed to the style. Not now when I'm trying to get the basics down.

A~a! It's kind of difficult but I'm glad to be able to sort of...not vent, but collect my thoughts. I know it seems like a hell of a thing to vent about, but honing my own style goal is important to me, amongst other things. I'm hoping that by the end of this year, I can have at least once full-blown Gal coordinate.

If I were to go to F21 for skinny jeans - no way in hell would I fit them. However, Arizona not only have my perfect size BUT they make ALL jeans in Regular/Tall/Short. So they aren't too long either! ^o^

I think we all know where I stand when it comes to Spongebob! I couldn't pass it up! I may just love Spongebob in glasses, LMAO

I put money on my debit today so I can buy...A BOWLER HAT! :D :D :D So expect a huge post (yes, just about that hat!) when I get it ^o^

Today I just wanted to do a inspo post with an easy Mannish outfit as presented by GrailNet. There will be more of these to come, by the way~

Grail is a site that sells affordable pieces for Gal outfits. Many popular models model the clothing for the site - including Maya Mori (squee~!!). I really love that most of the pieces in these outfits are extremely basic and can no doubt be found anywhere in the States! It's good inspiration to me to be able to create coordinates without having to splurge on name brands.

So here's the initial outfit - a very cute coordinate that I think would look great in the Fall!

My First e.l.f. order Arrived!

Finally! So, I got my package today. It came in an average white bubble envelope. There was a tear in it when I got it, and I kind of freaked out. Everything was there and accounted for, though.

Overall, the products look fine. I got everything I ordered and there was a packing slip included. The Mineral Face Primer's box was a tad beaten up, but the actual product was fine.

My overall satisfaction with e.l.f. for this particular order is a 3.5 out of 5. The ordering fiasco, as noted here, was a bit annoying. I can't blame them for the packaging thing though because once it leaves the company, it's the post office's issue. However, I did get what I asked for. Mind you, this is just my opinion of the customer service & shipping. I'll be doing reviews of these products (probably going to start today) and giving my opinions there as well.

I have a job interview tomorrow & want to practice some interview appropriate make-up! It'd be best if I got used to incorporating the style into daily situations. What to add/remove to still look right but not look over/under made up. :3 So expect another post with a review of something soon!

My First Threading

So I went to get my eyebrows threaded for the first time. There's a chain of threading salons named DivaBeauty here. Me & the bestie wanted to get some work done, and I was scared to go alone - so it worked out! I got my brows arched, only.

Now, I had weird eyebrows. This was due to me being a dumbass when I was maybe 12~13 - I shaved both my brows off! I was trying to trim them and...no. So since they, they've grown in like stupid. The left one had more hair and they both looked like...a box with a thin tail.

So it was kinda tough for her to work with I guess? It worked out though. Here's the end product.

So yays - I do have an arch, they don't look untamed, they even look a bit Gal. Which is optimal for my cause here. I'd do it again! It's a very clean look, the redness subsided a lot faster than what I've hear waxing results in.

The nays? It did hurt. Tolerable? Certainly! Painless? Not in the slightest. It kind of felt like someone was running an extremely rough rope over my forehead. At times too, you feel the hairs individually coming out. My eyes teared and stuff too.

Also, the specific salon I went to. It's a new branch but I just kind of felt like they were a bit standoffish. Which bugged me, because it was my first time and I didn't feel like I was being reassured or even had much explained to me. Even though I said, "It's my first time." I just felt like maybe it could've been procedure to explain what they're doing before they do it. Another Thing:

If this truly is DivaBeauty's procedure - I don't remember brow powder or rose water being used on me. What's up with that?

So that's be another issue I'd address. I think maybe because it's a new location, it's just kinda iffy. I'm thinking of going to the Summerlin location next time, which has been there for a while. Maybe it'll be a bit more inviting. Apparently, most clients return every 2~3 weeks, but my eyebrows took ages to grow back in when I chopped them all off, so I don't know if I'll need to go that frequently.

Also, if from here on, I just have to pluck a few new hairs, I might not need to return unless I decide to grow them in again. I do need a brow kit though to fill it in and to thicken the end of the arch just a little. On my left eye, it's thinner than the right so I need to fix that.

I went shopping, as noted~ :3 Only bought a few things though. Weird enough (and this may just be a good thing) but I'm really picky about what I buy lately. I don't get money all the time so I want to buy stuff I'll actually wear. Which is why I made a list in my previous post! Things I've seen in Gal coordinates that I can actually wear.

Spongebob Squarepants Fitted Cap - Spencers

I LOVE SPONGEBOOOOOB! Kanako, watch out, srsly. They had this one and one without the glasses, but I'm getting a pair of identical glasses soon, so I thought it'd be cute to have the same ones. ^o^ This is kind of in place of my New Era Fitted Cap - it's still a fitted cap but it's not New Era brand. Just directly from Nickelodeon.

"Church Pants" Shirt - T-Shirt Diner (Custom Shirt)

This is kinda taking place of the Raglan T-shirt on my list, but I still want a Raglan shirt, haha. Also to explain this shirt - and I suppose you'll loose respect for me for admitting this - but I watch iCarly on occasion & Sam had on a shirt that said Church Pants in one of the episodes. So I got it remade at the T-Shirt Diner, haha. I thought it could work for an AmeKaji outfit. I stil do too- it's all about coordinating the rest. I can promise I'll get more custom shirts in the future too 'cause I love it!

Pink Pom Pom Beanie - Spencers

I was looking around for one because I figured since it's still sweltering hot here, it'd be pretty cheap. I got this for $12.99, which was cut in half for purchasing a 2nd hat in their Buy 1, Get 1 Half Off sale.

Vest - BASIC

They had many vests, but this one seemed the most versatile and had the best quality. I don't want to wash my vest and have it deteriorate.

SEEE I did good! Only stuck to my list! And I still have money to spend, LMAO. Hoping to get a few of the basics (Black dress shirt, capris, etc) at somewhere inexpensive.

Couldn't find a bowler hat for the life of me. There's a cheap one on eBay but I'm scared the quality's gonn be crap. Might be worth the plunge though if I really want to create an accurate BACKS coordinate. :3

Still didn't find any shoes, but there are a pair of gladiator wedges I want from A'Gaci. I only saw them online though, so I might have to snag them. There's always CutesyGirl too, so we'll see~

I'll update when I get more of my school shopping list completed!

Tomorrow, I plan to go shopping with the Bestie! She's gotta pick up a few things before going to Japan (grumble grumble) but I figured it'd be a good time to buy clothes for school!

This will be the first time I go out shopping with a Gyaru...state of mind...? Well, if that makes sense, haha. I'm aiming for basic pieces and things I've seen in the A/W Outfit Previews. It's super general, and I feel like I'm missing out on stuff! D: I'm not going to be able to get these all tomorrow, but I'd like these all eventually. I'm going to the Las Vegas Outlet Mall, so things wont be as expensive as in a regular mall. They still have the same kind of shops, though.

Also, I can probably pick up things like knitted hats for cheap at the moment, because it's still hot summer here. So now would be the best time to jump on that.

Review - Rimmel Glam'Eyes Mascara

Another make-up review, yay! This time it's Rimmel London's Glam'Eyes Mascara.
Note: The pink packaging, not the gold one.
I had read some good reviews about this being a great mascara for lower lashes. At retail value, it's about $7.00~ but I found it new on eBay for $4.99! I love eBay :3

(In Action)

In this shot, I have the mascara on both lashes. The left eye is after I separated the lashes a bit with a lash comb. Mind you, I didn't have to do a lot of combing because it really separates well on it's own! I didn't try it on my lower lashes yet (I'll update this with that, most likely) but as an upper lash mascara, I think it's pretty good.

I have two styles of lashes - a thinner half-lash that gives a more natural look and a full lash that has a much more dramatic look. I think this mascara would look best with a more natural (but still lengthy/Gal look) if you use it on your upper lash.

I have another similar mascara that's supposed to define lashes and prevent clumps - Maybelline's Define-A-Lash Lengthening Mascara. I prefer Glam'Eyes to that, because the Maybelline still clumps.

VerdictYeah I couldn't think of anything I didn't like, to be honest. I'll update this review with a note on how it works on lower lashes as well! Otherwise though, I think this mascara is pretty good!

Hi there! New corner! I'll never stop thinking of things because I always am reminded of some specific Gal element I'm in love with! Then I have to dedicate something to it LOL.

This new corner of sorts is called Deco Snap (Deco Sunappu). A lot of Gals love shiny, glitzy, and glamorous items. We're like a fashionable A.D.D. army! (Ooooh, shinies!) So I'll be showcasing my favorite deco pieces - both of my own creation, gifts, and of my favorite Charisma Gals!

Sakurina's Cell Phone Deco - 超Rock Princess系!

It's unfathomably cute! What's selling this for me is the skulls mixed with the glamour. I love skulls but done wrong, it can very masculine or worse - creepy. Sakurina knows how to play it up in a manner where it gives of a femme rockstar vibe!

Of course, the butterfly charm is also there as an Ageha status symbol of sorts. I love her use of butterfly motifs was well. More for her than myself though, LOL.

How does it look? I'm still tweaking some things so it might change between now and later~

I don't like to rant much here because this is my "happy place," so to speak. But man! So I can finally bitch a bit about my e.l.f. order.

I ordered from them on their huge 60% off 8-Hour Sale. I got $31~ worth of make-up for a mere $12.40! So I was sitting on Cloud 9, as you can imagine. WELL it took e.l.f. so long to take the money, Paypal released it! And I withdrew my balance without realizing they did that!

So I had to re-order everything. They granted me the 60% again (and I added one more $3 product that I forgot so I guess that's a plus) BUT! At the time of my 1st order, my shipping MYSTICALLY disseminated! This time they didn't grant that though. So it ended up being $20.55.

Less than I expected, more than I wanted. I guess I can't complain too much but when you're only a college student, bargains are your livelihood. I just feel kind of gipped because of THEIR slowpoke tendencies.

And let's net even discuss how there's a 10-day hold for the original $40.50 that the re-order cost on my card. So that's money I can't use for 10 days. YAY. >.>

/sigh. I'm good now. LOL

Forever 21 Twist Military Style: F21Twist has a full line of military-inspired outfits out! I want to rave/rant about my favorites in this collection.

Brand Introduction: Marple Q: Marple Q is the new AmeKaji line on the 8th Floor at Shibuya 109! It's a cute, energetic brand that I'd like to introduce to you all. There's a lot of cute looks and the best part is it's pretty affordable!

Trend In The US: This is going to be kind of like my personal shopping list of how to keep trendy with Japanese brans/trends in the States. There are several places doing posts like this I know, but like I said - it's kind of my take on the styles! I'd like to share them for feedback as well! So I try and practice make-up when I can 'cause how will I get better if I don't? Also it's Trial #001 for this blog but I've done it much more than once. LOL! Right here is (almost; I'll get into that in a second) a full face of make-up.

My eye make-up has improved by light-years! However, I need to do my lower waterline's eyeshadow thicker. It looks sparse in some areas. However, I really like brown on my lower lid. On the upper lid, black's the way to go. However, it make's my eye look smaller when I put black on the upper & lower lid. This might be something I can fix/get used to, but for now I find this to be an okay substitute. It still has a general Gal look. I also should consider lining my upper waterline. That'll take practice as well.

Along with the eyes, I've gotta get used to bottom lashes. Mine are minimal, so that's something to consider. What I think I'll do is put mascara on my bottom lashes first and then determine how many/few bottom lashes I need. Might be the easier way to do that without going overboard.

Next, brow maintenance. I need to go to DivaBeauty and get them threaded. I've never done it before so I'm a tad scared but I think it'll look nice. Then I'm thinking of trimming them down like a lot of models do. I wouldn't do it until after I bought the propel tools I need to maintain it. Getting the arch itself should make a great deal of difference.

Then for face make-up, I need to get down highlight and contouring. This time around, I just didn't have the products to do it. I'm still waiting on an order from e.l.f. that got delayed due to shipping issues. I gotta call them today to reorder it and hope they grant me my 60% discount again. D: But that's for another entry, hehe.

It was also suggested that I get a brighter blush & I agree - you can't see it in those pictures & I'm wearing it for sure. D:

Another thing I need to do is get a gloss to use over the nude lip. I've gotten used to the Canmake concealer since I've gotten it. It just needs some gloss to complete it. Here's a picture of GILFY Charisma Gal Emina. Her nude lip in this shot is exactly what I want to achieve,

It's gorgeous right?? I really love her look. It has a lot of soft peach colors rather than pinks. I'd like to incorporate that into my make-up style.

Otherwise, that's the bulk of it. When that e.l.f. order does come in, I'll practice even more. ^o^

What Makes This Gal? Feat. Nana Suzuki

It is my own personal effort to take images of Gal's everyday outfits and figure out why it's Gal. I made a topic on Ricoche about this, because I really wanted to understand how if I wore a certain outfit, it'd look normal. But if say -- Suzuchan from Ranzuki wore it a certain way, it'd look Gal.

Merely an example!

So here's my first post for this sort of...learning process, featuring Nana Suzuki. I'll be first to admit that I don't read Popteen, but it's more the magazine that doesn't intrigue me. After looking through Popteen model's everyday looks, some of them are really cute! This particular outfit Nana's wearing popped out to me.

Just looking at that list alone doesn't scream Gal to me. So then you look at the finer details.

1. Her hair is done. It's a very clean and Gal-esque hairstyle at that. She didn't wake up & throw a hat on.

2. Make-up, of course. I can't tell what her eye make-up looks like, but you can tell she has it on. She also has full base make and blush (looks like Tsubasa's new carrot orange shade).

3. The outfit itself is pristine. That might be a raglan but it is NEAT. It fits her body well and it looks trendy. The jeans are just the same, and cuffing them to some degree has been quite trendy lately. Lastly, the shoes are basic but mesh well with the outfit. I used to have the impression that heels could Gal up any casual outfit, but I think sneakers can be incorporated into perfect Gal outfits as well.

This outfit in some eyes may still not look Gal, but I think that it's not completely not Gal. It's just interesting to see a normal outfit transform when you put a bit more effort into your looking. It's inspiring to me if anything! More of these to come, I'm sure. :D

R's Summer Coordinates x Jewelry

I got into a conversation about jewelry and it made me realize - I barely have any good jewelry! I'll be sure to update this post with a picture of my abysmal collection by the way.

Therefore, my post's goal today is to take the top 10 popular summer styles as depicted by Ranzuki and pair it with a few pieces of jewelry from a site I recently discovered - Girl Props! The pieces here are pretty inexpensive and they have tons of options. Recently the New York store location closed down, but the online shop is still flourishing!

Hopefully this can be an inspiration to some - I know it's given me a few good ideas and strengthened my eye for matching jewelry to outfits. Before the spam though-

Where are some of your favorite places to shop for jewelry?
Are you a fan of more classical pieces (gold, silver, rhinestones, precious stones) or fun pieces (plastics, chunky bracelets, leather bands, etc)?
What's your favorite type of jewelry? (Necklace, ring, bracelets, etc!)

1. Romantic Vacation Style

A lot of blues can be seen in these coordinates! I picked the first bracelet to compliment those blues. It's a very classy item, but the shade of blue of these gems give a feeling of playfulness that's perfect for vacation.

The second bracelet lends itself more to the romantic end of these coordinates. Floral accents are heavy on the dresses and rompers present and this bracelet matches that well. To add, the cameo jewel gives a feeling romantic Victorian feel - kind of a neat fusion of classical and modern aesthetics!

2. Maxi Dress/One Piece Style

With maxi dresses, I feel like you really gotta show you're wearing jewelry because the dress becomes the centerpiece of your coordinate. Therefore I chose this chunky metal bracelet for starters. It has a neat texture and alternating shapes to add a bit of extra dimension to the outfit.

For the second set of bracelets, akin to my other theory - more is good! These layered bracelets all have a bit of different style from each other and have really neat inlays.

3. Marine Style (Top)

These pieces might be a given! The first is actually not jewelry but a broach. This could be pinned to a hat to add a bit of extra Marine flair!

The ship's wheel necklace is a cute and flashy way to complete your outfit. The design itself lends to the outfit's theme and the diamonds give it that extra Gal shine.

4. Surf Style (Bottom)

These are probably my favorite pieces. I chose the first ring because it reminds me of a whirlpool! Also when it comes to surf style - if you actually plan to surf, a ring would be easiest to remove! I'm all about practicality, hee~

Then this fantastically gaudy but fun octopus ring! Surf is a bit of fun style as well, and I thought this ring kind of matched the feel of the style.

5. Boys Style

Boys style is all about balance. The first ring came to me as a ring that should go with an outfit that mostly boyish with a bit or girly flair. The onyx color gives it a masculine touch but the ovular shape gives it a softer feel.

The second ring would be for the opposite in my mind - a girly outfit with a bit of a masculine flair! The ring's design gives a strong impression and seems kinda mannish.

6. Obaka Style

Obaka Style is still a mystery to me. It kind of reminds me of a crazy mix of dorkiness, big accessories, and "coordinated mismatches." If that's possible! These pieces kind of lend to the playfulness of this style.

7. Bohemian Style (Top Right)

Gal's take on bohemian style reminds me most if a mix of Zen Bohemian patterns/loose clothing styles and contemporary flair. This first ring is a modern take on a classic symbol of beauty and freedom - the butterfly.

The 2nd piece is a wooden bracelet that mixes earth with color, giving the peaceful style a blast of energy.

8. Monotone Relax Mode Style (Top Left)

The style itself has a distinct look of relaxed clothes, such as rompers and loose shirts and monotone colors. The first necklace plays up the delicate symbol of the heart covered in wire, giving it a unique but charming feel.

Mot of the displayed coordinates are baring a lot of arm, so I thought a chunky bangle like this could pull any other these coordinates together. The large jewel is striking and the colors mesh well with the overall monotone scheme.

9. One Point Military Style (Bottom Right)

This was a bit tough because technically anything I added would've made it Two Point Military Style! So instead, I picked items to compliment the military one points. Firstly is this gorgeous eagle broach. Eagles are a symbol of strength and could go fantastically on a vest of the side of a hat.

The belt would look very cute along side the loose military styled pants. It would give the outfit a bit more Gal edge!

10. Ethnic Style (Bottom Left)

Lastly, Ethnic style which features lots of different textures and colors! This first necklace features a Hamsa which is a good luck amulet. It's very popular in the Middle East and North Africa. The cute turquoise gem in the middle and the overall gold tones could lend well to any ethnic outfit.

The ring has a really neat texture framing the blue and orange jewel in the middle - two colors I've often seen on Ethnic-styled nails!

Today I had a little arts and craft fun! I made a motivational poster with my goal weight and daily exercise goals on it.

I know they say you shouldn't exercise daily, but I don't think AT LEAST 15 minutes of some kind of activity a day is going to be too hard on my body.

I do want to power walk on days I don't do intensive cardio/aerobics. I think I can get to 49KG in no time.
I know my weight goal sounds tiny but I'm only 147cm tall. That's about 4'10". And I'm not a dwarf, just really short haha.

Fun Day Out!

So I guess this should be a well-rounded blog. I'll tell you about my day today. :)

I went out with my best friend Rachel to play Taiko no Tatsujin at Gemini Arcade before she heads out for a vacation out of town. We were kind of hungry too though, so we headed to the vegetarian restaurant next to the arcade.

I haven't mentioned it here but I'm a budding Pescatarian. In other words, the only "meat" I eat is fish. I also say budding because I was strong on said diet and then kind of strayed a bit. However today's excursion kind of put me back on track! It's great to taste how good food can me minus meat! To add, I'm doing it more for the health benefits of fish. Also, one of my main issues is not so much that I overeat, but what I do eat is bad!

The place was called Long Life Vegetarian Restaurant. Me and Rachel had seen the place the first time we went to Gemini and said we wanted to try it out! It's kind of hard to tell what kind of atmosphere the place is, from looks on just the outside. We were scared that we'd walk in and it'd be some stuck-up air to the place.

However, we walk in and it's a Chinese restaurant! Mind you, while we were in the car, Rachel mentioned how she really wanted Chinese noodles...truly kismet if you ask me!

The waitstaff (and by staff I mean one nice lady) was very kind! We started off with appetizers.

Now the red bean egg rolls apparently were a new recipe that they were trying out. Let me tell you how bad me and Rachel were - it came with 4 and we each had one. We're here, loosing our minds at how good they were! Then we had to like hide them from ourselves so we could finish them for dessert and have room for the rest. It was insane! I can't wait till those are officially on the menu. The vegetable pot stickers were good as well! You could tell they didn't simply just omit meat. They made a really good veggie blend so it still tasted savory. Then our entrees!

These were huge entrees! It was truly a family style restaurant. The entree on the right was mine. I think I'm falling in love with 'alternative' meats. I can eat as I normally would and not feel the guilt. The "pork" was actually tofu fried up to look like strips of pork. The shrimp on the left was actual shrimp and it was SO plump and delicious.

Overall our meal came to a meager $29 bucks. We didn't even finish it all and it was so good~ I'd totally go back there. It might become a routine: Go to eat, go play Taiko. Haha~

TAIKOOOOOOOO!

I. Love. This. Game. You'll hear tons about it here, fair warning. Taiko no Tatsujin is this amazing rhythm game where you play the taiko drum. They have all kinds of amazing songs - including my bb's ARASHI and their hit "Love So Sweet!" They also have LM.C's song "88!" Which I played today and bombed on. Ugh.

However~ Me and Rachel finally placed in the Overall Game Ranking! ですてぃ・らーらーコンビ is in 13th/14th place! We'll be #1 soon enough~

Review - Canmake Lip Concealer

Hey guys! Here with another review. This is review part one of two products that were both purchased from Ichibankao!

This time, it's Canmake's Lip Concealer. I got shade 02 because while I don't have dark skin, I'm quite tan. So the lightest shade would've looked way past nude on me.

I heard some good comments about this product on Ricoche and other websites. It's supposed to conceal the natural red/pink tones in your lips so that any other lip color you add on top will look more vibrant. However, many Gals are using it as their main lip color to produce a nude lip look! That was my goal in buying it.

Product Name: Canmake Lip Concealer

Price: ¥1,100 (Ichibankao)

Pros

As you can see in the above shot, it does conceal my lip's natural tint.
It looks pretty good on my skintone - so if you're mixed and/or have medium skin, go for it!
There's no gross sticky feeling- like when you put on too much lipstick and it coagulates.

I honestly do like the result! When I used it at first, I was like "Ew..." because you can't just slap it on when you're me apparently. I had to exfoliate my lips with a wet washcloth, allow a lip balm to set on my lips, then apply the concealer. After figuring that out, it works great!

I have textbook dry skin though, so if that's not the case with you, these might not even be an issue to worry over.

Cons

It's quite drying. I cannot use this without some sort of lip balm under it.
I had to be really careful with putting gloss on top.

Gloss pretty much made the concealer dissipate. Perhaps my gloss was too heavy though. Also, I think if you allow the concealer to set, it works a bit better with gloss.

Verdict(s)

It's a great product if you make it work for you. For others, maybe it just worked right out of the container. I didn't have that luck but once I got it down, I love it!
This is sadly one of those products that wont work for everyone. Somewhat like BB Creams. Kind of disappointing, but there are plenty of nude lip alternatives.

I also bought Visee Glam Nude Eyes eyeshadow from Ichibankao as well! I want to have on a full face of make-up to display in my review of it however - so look out for that! I'll also do a service review of Ichibankao during that time to close up this package review. :)

So sometime next week, I should be going to get my nails done. There's a shop here in Las Vegas that does 3D/Moriiii~ nails! I'm so stoked. :)

I called for quotes today & they said $30 for color acrylics, and $40 for glitter acrylics. Afterwards, all 3D art is $5~10 per nail. She also said the price depends on the length of nails. Honestly, I don't want them much longer than maybe this:

And that would be pretty short to most! But I use my computer often and don't want my typing to be all wacky.

Really I only want 2 of my nails to have 3D art. Also, I've gotta see this 'glitter acrylics' before I decide on them. I'm pretty sure I just want color acrylics though.

So even though this might only make sense in my head, here's an idea of the style I want to get!

1. Stiletto Nail Tips

I'd like stiletto tips, if possible! I usually see these in Japanese magazines though, so I'm not sure. Whenever I got my nails done, I got square. That was like when I graduated high school though, haha.

2. Plaid or Polka-dot French Tip

I'm not sure which but I want either plaid or polka-dot french tips. I want a sky blue base and white dots if it's polka-dots. Then if it's plaid, I want blue/white plaid.

3. Alternating Nail Designs

I really like the look where there's a mix of different nail designs! I can probably still do either plaid or polka-dot but alternate the designs with each nail. I like gold nails but I think if I did go with a lame nail design on one nail, it'd be silver. I think that x blue looks a bit better.

4. Blue Cherries!

Weird motif to like, right? I don't even like the taste of cherries, but I think blue ones are cute! I wonder if on the one of other nails, I should get blue cherry blossoms...I don't want it to be overkill. Then again, these are mori nails we're talking about. LOL

However, I wont know the final product until next week! I'm crazy excited~

Overalls Hits & Misses

Overalls (which I'll be calling them here because what they are wearing in most of these shots are what I know to be called overalls!) are interesting. Dressed up well enough, they can look high fashion.

JELLY recently did a spread on overalls. There was a few hits for me, but many misses! The looks I did like though, I really like!

I love this look! It's casual but still has an adult feel. I think it's because it's not a loose fit, aside from the overalls. So that kind of gives it a neater look. An outfit like this could look very cute at school, I think! I think if you cuffed the legs of the overalls and wore some cute heels, it'd be amazing!

I'm particular about rompers! I prefer long legged ones and I'm not a fan of strapless rompers. This EGOIST romper is kind of fitted, and I like that look as well. The color is fantastic - usually I see a lot of floral print rompers. Not my style, honestly. This has a very onee look to it, and even a military aesthetic.

And now the misses. I know, only two that I like?? These are just two that I like to the point I'd wear it. Not all of them are bad in my opinion, but some are.

"French Marine Style" (#2, bottom right)

I can see where this one is going and I think what's making me dislike it is the fit of the overalls. Either a tighter fit or switching this to a romper all together would make this cute. I think a navy blue romper would look amazing with a French Marine aesthetic.

"Western Style" (#3, main photo)

An ultimately non-flattering look coupled with a large bag. That's all I see. I've seen Western done in a way where it still looks fashionable but this sort of falls flat for me.

"Girly Style" (#4, upper left)

Once again, it's like combining a very loose, non-stylish outfit...with a designer bag. The bag isn't making it more "Gal" to me. Just looks sloppy!

Hopefully I'll be able to buy and incorporate a pair of overalls this fall! It's the perfect season for them. I'll also be on the look out for a romper I actually like!

Now at first, I wasn't interested. Then, I noticed this hat around...you know, the ugly one?

It's not an ugly hat, it SAYS ugly!

As seen on the forever fiercer than I ever was at 16 Nicorun XD

And I like the hat! I was like, "LOL, irony!" So I kept saying, "I need to find out who made that. Looks like something from W♥C..."

So yesterday, finally check it out. I'm right~

BUT. The yellow one is sold out. D: What's worse, my 2nd choice of the black one is sold out! D: Less on that though. While I'm looking at the hats, I honed in on these other accessories that I fell in love with! Looking at them now, they give me a nautical vibe! I think they could be used to make some very cute Marine-kei coordinates!

WAAAA~ It's so cute! Y4,900 though which is kind of pricey. The UGLY cap's only Y1,500. D:

I thought the rope and chain materials also really gave off a marine vibe!

THESE ARE SOLD OUT. But I'm like drooling over them! D:

So in the end, I realized that I am intrigued by W♥C, but their accessories/shoes! I'm still not crazy about the shirts or excessive Kumatan stuff. Also, the Viva Japan theme is GREAT but just looks REALLY WEIRD on someone like me who's not Japanese.

I love the concept of bringing a more eccentric style to Gal. I feel like it meshes well with Gal. Every W♥C coordinate I've seen, I still sense the Gal influence.

W♥C is also (in my opinion) a great look to for some Shibuhara stylings. I haven't read PopSister in ages but I'm sure if I looked, I'd see some W♥C coordinates in it.

Lastly, I do kind of like their rompers because they are long pants rompers! I'm not a big fan of the shorts ones, honestly. I do wish the rompers had some solid colors though as I'm not a huge fan of floral print.

That's about it though~ ^o^

I was reading Universal Doll's GILFY Fall Preview and got so happy at some of the looks. However what struck me most was the plausible trend of Bowler Hats!

I love these things!

Currently Kankanbo (or Boater hats) are the in for summer. Speaking of which, if you're still looking for a cheap one - JCPenney has one on sale for $8USD. It's pretty plain but I bet it could work with a lot too. ^o^

Bowlers are also known as derby hats.

Bowler hats are so round and nice looking! Can't you imagine so many cute Mannish looks with it? Plus, I want a cute mushroom cut for fall and omg that hat would look like a cherry on top of my head! LMAO so I have the goal to buy one before they get pricey.

Personally, I like the man's version better. Especially since I can see a plethora of Mannish outfits coming from it, I think the hat would be the perfect thing to keep Mannish and then add that femme flair to the rest of the outfit.

I already liked GILFY a lot but yeah. :D LOVE~ Can't wait to see their line-up in full! I'm also looking forward to GLAD NEWS because they have crazy shirts. Like the Strawberry Good shirt from Summer '09! I went to buy it after I saw my favorite Johnny in it but the color ones were sold out. So I didn't get it. I kinda regret that now. D:

Pick-Up!

So I'm waiting for shipments of several products that will help me achieve Gal make-up.

Until then, I've been focusing on working out and eating better. I want to drop about 30~40 pounds. Both to be healthy and for looks, I wont even lie. It's gonna require a lot of work but I think I can be better at a lifestyle like this if I truly am happy with myself. I'm fine with me now but that doesn't mean I can't improve things.

ALSO, I went to LA this past week. On the way there, my eye got really irritated and I was rubbing it like crazy. Finally I stopped and it was really red and swollen. So I avoided doing anything to it and put in drops and stuff. Well it's been a few days and my eyelid still looks a bit puffier/swollen than the other. D: I have no idea how to fix it. I think I'm going to keep my contact out unless it's dire and let my eye rest. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon. =\

Dieting with Ranzuki!

October's Ranzuki features a fitness section and I was surprised that one of the diet solutions they gave was pretty reasonable.

A lot of times, you see suggestions of pills, weird concoctions, crazy machinery, or borderline starvation. This diet suggestion just says watch what you eat and one other crucial device - protein as a meal replacement.

Now if that sounds kinda strange to you - if you drink Slim Fast or Kashi or substitute your lunch with a SoyJoy, you are meal replacing already.

Here's the example menu they give, some explanations, and substitutes you can do to have an equally healthy diet even if you're not in Japan.

Within Ranzuki, they promote a specific protein shake produced by DHC. This shake can be purchased online from shops like Rakuten, Akinaiblog Japan Shop, Mia Donna Boutique, eBay, and more. However, the cheapest that I've seen the 15-pack of shakes for is around $51USD. That is a lot of cash for a little over two weeks of product. Not to mention that from what I found out, it's just as expensive in Japan!

Protein is Protein is Protein. Having DHC's or getting it from a local GNC Store will make little difference. The point is to watch what you eat and to maintain said diet while exercising!

So I suggest to you GNC Total Lean™ Lean Shake! These containers have a month's worth of shakes for $29.99. That's a bit more reasonable than what DHC's asking for. It also comes in quite a few flavors, but I personally will be trying out their Vanilla Bean flavor first. I read one review, saying the Strawberry tasted a bit like chemicals. So be sure to read those & ensure what you're buying is going to be kind of tasty. You can mix your protein shake with soy milk and take it on the go or enjoy it at home.

Also, even though they suggest you use the meal replacement for breakfast, you should use it in place of any meal you don't usually eat enough of or can't eat properly. If that's lunch or dinner in your case - go for it!

Bento is very ambiguous, but the great thing is it's so customizable! You can read about three different types of bentos here at Just Bento! The Soshoku or Healthy bento might be worth looking into, but generally bentos aren't very unhealthy. Try doing a healthy fusion of local and Japanese foods to create a unique bento! Remember to place a decent emphasis on rice if you do stay on the tradition route.

Miso soup can be purchased rather easily as well, but any soup or small salad can be a great substitute!

Green tea has a lot of healthy antioxidants and other properties that can assist in losing weight too! If you don't like the flavor of green tea, try some green tea tablets with a full bottle of water.

Side Dishes (Less of this than rice)

Vegetable soup is rather easy to obtain, but if you're tired of it for the day, maybe have a salad or another type of clear-broth soup instead. If you venture into chowders, just keep the calories in mind!

Rice is a given, but toss it up! White, brown, wild, jasmine rice. There are so many styles of rice that you shouldn't have a dull dinner! To add, pasta is a decent substitute as well. Instead of piling it down with a whole jar of marinara, saute it with from fresh vegetables and extra virgin olive oil or use a light pesto sauce and a bit of Parmesan cheese.

For side dishes, it's up to you! However, as depicted in many standard Japanese dinners, your main should be whatever grain you choose. The side dishes - meat, veggies, etc should be secondary. This way you're still eating what you like but just curbing how much of it you take in.

If you'd like to try out some great Japanese side dishes, check out both this page and this page at Just Bento! Without making a trip to the store, I was able to make the Blanched Spinach and 3-Minute Eggs to go along side some pasta for dinner! It was very tasty and quick to make~

What's too much or too little will depend solely on you. One solution I read on BodyRock.TV was never eat until you're completely fully. Get about 2/3 full and drink water or tea the rest of the way.

This could be a great way to loose and maintain weight! Just be sure to drink lots of fluids! Also, if you want to loose weight, this alone may or may not just help. You should always consider at least 15~30 minutes of daily exercise coupled with dieting to see results.

I'm not an expert at any of this stuff, but I've been looking up stuff on loosing weight healthily long enough that I do have half of an opinion! Haha~ If there are any questions, I'd be happy to answer. This turned out to be really long. XD;;

Review - Wet 'n Wild Eye Make-Up Remover

So yesterday, I popped into the local Walgreens to pick up Wet 'n Wild MegaEyes Cremeliner. I'll be doing a review on that in a seperate post, but I also bought Wet 'n Wild's Eye Make-Up Remover. That's what my first review will be about.

Product Name: Wet 'n Wild Eye Make-Up Remover
Price: $1.99

I hadn't read any previous reviews of this product, and now that I have read them I could tell you I wouldn't have wasted my money.

Pros

It does remove eyeshadow (only) very easily and cleanly.
Cleans false eyelashes perfectly!

The latter was after a bit of research on how I could clean my falsies. So I decided to put this remover to the test. A few minutes in the solution was enough to clean off the glue and mascara on it. However, it's easier to clean product off of plastic lashes than it is to get them off your actual lashes.

Cons

It BURNS. My eyelid feels puffy/red hours later.
It cannot remove Wet 'n Wild eyeliner.

Now my main beef with this is it's one thing to be stubborn again other company's make-up. But your own?! It made no sense to me.

I have $2.99 make-up removing clothes from the Beauty Supply Warehouse that easily removes my Maybelline waterproof (oh and it is waterproof) mascara with a few rubs. This potent potion didn't make a dent in my mascara.

Verdict(s)

This was a classic situation of you get what you pay for. What I got was smelly stingy liquid.
If you do want to risk it (say you just wear eyeshadow), clench your eyes tight & do not allow the cottonball you use to wipe away the make-up to get sopping wet!
If you're looking for a good false eyelash cleaner, here it is and it's cheap! I don't plan on putting this near my eye anymore, however.

I love this outfit! It looks so comfortable. I've always wanted a jumpsuit like this. And with the cap and bright sneakers, it just looks like a really fun outfit. ♥

I was messing around on Polyvore for the first time and tried to kind of re-create the look.

I might make it a point to do these when I like an outfit. It kind of trains you to re-create a look without the exact same items. I'm not crazy about this one, but maybe the next will be better. :D

So just as soon as I suggested that one should have a lot of passion about their blog(s), here I am. Honestly, I am oddly unexcited with LiveJournal at the moment. One of my main reasons for making an account was to add the other really fantastic Gal Fashion blogs that are on Blogspot.

In the end, I figured it wouldn't be a terrible idea to make my own. I have one LJ account that's basically dedicated to my fandoms. I keep my fandoms seperated from the fashion stuff I'm into. Not because I don't want people to know I like fashion, but it's kind of like I'd prefer to surround myself with like-minded people. So everyone on my fandom journal likes what I'm into. Everyone on my fashion journal is into the same fashion(s) I'm into.

I'm keeping my fashion LJ (werecriminals is the username) because I can still post in those communities I'm in with that account. However, I'll probably be posting here from now on~ Same with my Ricoche blog posts - they will probably be diverted here. I kind of wonder if there's an import function~

So with this blog, it will be like...an actual blog. I will probably talk about daily crap, with an emphasis on fashion. There will be reviews (mostly on make up, hair products, shops, err music/movies, etc.) Just anything I feel like talking about.

I already got a few things I want to review so expect that soon! Otherwise, that's it. XD

Gal Circles.

Why do some Gals feel that they NEED to be in a Gal-cir?

The more I see being made on a whim & existing for short bouts of time, the less I want to be in one. I know I might have someone say, "I don't think that," and I'm not saying any one person does. However, I know there are people with this mentality. To add, a lot of the Gal-cirs have come and gone. Some because of internal drama, some just we never really there to begin with!

Don't you think that you can just hang out with other Gals without being bound under the unanimous name of a Gal-cir? You don't have to be in a Gal-cir to socialize with other Gals. From what I've gathered - being in a Gal-cir doesn't,

1) Make you a better Gal.
2) Make you Gal at all.

I understand that there is an inert need to be a part of a pack when it comes to things. To be with others who are doing the same thing(s) as you and understand. That doesn't mean new Gal-cirs have to pop up all the time though. To say, "Well its motive to get us all together." You mean, you need a title to get you together? I honestly don't believe that Gals can't just be friends or hang out without being in a Gal-cir together.

Wouldn't it be better and a lot more special if after just HANGING OUT with a set of Gals for a while, the Gal-cir came to be. Not to like...construct it so point to point? Sometimes when its that way, it almost seems more like...a job. A Duty. Not just hanging out with good friends.

This has nothing to do with how Gal-cirs pick their members - I have no real opinion about it because in Japan they're pretty strict as well. However, I know a lot of Japanese Gal-cirs have sprung up between girls who have been friends for ages & just finally added officialism to their group.

As I saw someone mention in a thread at Ricoche - it does suck that the only time Gals will get together is when/if something large is happening. When I get better at Gal and really branch out, I want my Gal friends to be just that - my FRIENDS. We hang out whenever - not just when shit's jumpin' off.

However, I don't think me making/joining a Gal-cir will do that. You need to just...network and make friends first! I don't actually have a ton of friends in the Gal community & its mainly because I am trying to get my look together. Eventually I'll post in some of the larger LiveJournal communities and hopefully meet some people and such but I don't know.

I'm at the part where everything I need to do is a solo act. No one else can get me looking how I need to look.

I know I may have the minority opinion here but this is just what I think. I don't think Gal-cirs are bad in the slightest and if I was good at my style and the Gal-cir was as well, I'd join it. However, it seems like sometimes people feel that being in a Gal-cir is the icing on the cake. Where there are FANTASTIC Gals out there who aren't in Gal-cirs at all.
